New Zealand Design Week
Project Description
New Zealand Design Week was launching a new, multi-discipline design awards initiative as part of its annual programme, and I was brought on to create the brand identity. I developed a scalable system that gives the awards a distinct voice while remaining anchored to the core NZDW brand. Utilising a single weight of the Söhne type family with offset layouts, the framework offers a striking, energetic structure built to adapt across the full breadth of disciplines, categories, and touchpoints. Fluid, undulating gradients were introduced to create a memorable point of difference from NZDW’s block colours while maintaining seamless brand attribution.
Creative direction by Nick Riley.
Trophy design by Levi Hawken.
